Spinach is original from Central and Western Asia and it is often grown in cool climates and Autumn-Winter crops and Spring crops. The demand for spinach is increasing in Asia and there is also potential for export.

Spinach is rich in vitamins and minerals, has health benefits and is often recommended by nutritionists. Specifically, spinach has a rich vitamin and trace mineral content, including blood-tonic iron; vitamin A is good for eyes and enhances resistance; calcium and vitamin K are good for teeth and bones; vitamins E, C and carotenoids have strong antioxidant capabilities, helping the body fight malignant cells. In addition, spinach also contains vitamin D and a rich amount of Omega 3 fatty acids.
